Debate over the safety of the COVID-19 injections continues to rage in the public sphere. But according to one injected&nbsp;bodybuilder, those who refused the COVID-19 shots were right all along.&nbsp;Popular bodybuilder and author Doug Brignole last year issued a challenge to the “unvaccinated,” whom he deemed “misled,” saying that his death would be a litmus test for the safety of the shots.&nbsp;“I have enough confidence in the vaccine, based on my research, to get it done,” Brignole posted to Facebook in April 2021. “Those of you who think the vaccine kills people can use me as a test. If I die, you were right. If I don’t die, and have no ill effects, you were wrong, and should admit it (at least to yourselves). Better yet, you should admit that you were misled, and tell the world who misled you, so other people can benefit by avoiding those fearmongers.”&nbsp;<figure class="image"><img src="https://res.cloudinary.com/aflds/image/upload/v1666060767/Screen_Shot_2022_10_15_at_4_9b9e391e40.webp"></figure>Last week, the “unvaccinated” were vindicated when Brignole died suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of 63. Brignole was in good health and preparing to guest pose at the AAU Mr. Universe in Las Vegas on October 22. <a href="https://www.sportskeeda.com/pop-culture/news-what-happened-doug-brignole-tributes-pour-bodybuilder-fitness-author-dies-aged-62">Unverified reports</a> allege that the death was caused by a heart attack.The bodybuilding icon reportedly received two Moderna shots in 2020.“I’m vaccinated ! Well, the first of two," he wrote proudly in a Facebook post. "Let’s get this done so we can get back to traveling, going to concerts, and having fun. My vaccine was yesterday, and I had no problem with it. My deltoid was a bit sore, but otherwise fine. We’re all in this together, so let’s do our share to beat it.”Brignole is not the only combatant to die suddenly after throwing down the gauntlet with the “unvaccinated”.&nbsp;34-year-old John Ross, known for his hostile rants against those who refused to get the COVID-19 injections, died unexpectedly last week. &nbsp;“Fuck your memes and your feelings,” he wrote in a Facebook post last year. “Just get the damn vaccine and wear a mask. I dont know when people stopped believing in science but IT IS GOD DAMN SCIENCE. You all had to have vaccines to enter school. Stop being paranoid sheep about your own health and that of others. You don't like it then block me. The amount of mass stupidity about how viral bodies work is laughable. Its men and women with families in labs fighting for the ability for others to go home and see thier [sic] own families. The vaccine is not meant to prevent you from getting the virus. Its meant to keep you from dying a horrific death from the virus. That is why people with pre-existing conditions die from it when vaccinated. This concept is up there with the world being flat, the moon landing was fake, Walt Disney is frozen in ice, the earth is hollow, and people that don't believe in fucking climate change. I said my peace [sic] and those who know me know I've never had a problem doing so. If I have to stare at 10x as many posts that dispute this then I stand by the researchers, scientists, and experts that have devoted thier [sic] lives to these fields NOT the keyboard cowboys who have no expertise in a field they are leading you on with. Delete me if you have an issue with this.” &nbsp;On October 7, 2022, the day after he flew to Pennsylvania, John died of a sudden heart attack. According to his uncle, Robert Bonner, the coroner said John had 95% blockage in one artery alone. &nbsp;“He will live on as one of the most polite, sensitive and beautiful persons you ever met, taken from this world way too soon,” says John’s obituary.&nbsp;In August 2021, 50-year-old Jim Wareing recommended everyone abandon the “unvaccinated”.&nbsp;&nbsp;“Pro tip: I have a unique insider view to whats happening locally,” he wrote in a Facebook post. “No matter your age or health or vaccine status&nbsp; mask up, stop sharing indoor air with others, and if you have for any reason chosen to remain in the group that is unvaccinated:get out of that group as fast as possible.&nbsp;&nbsp; The great part about science is that it's true whether you believe it or not.&nbsp;&nbsp; Please don't let your club allegiance prevent you from staying alive.&nbsp;&nbsp; The virus infecting you now is a totally different thing than a few months ago&nbsp;&nbsp; A much more infectious and deadly thing.”&nbsp;&nbsp;On October 2, 2022, Jim died unexpectedly during one of his visits to Martha’s Vineyard where he liked to participate in the fishing Derby. He was found sitting lifeless in his Suburban a half hour after chatting with friends.&nbsp; &nbsp;No cause of death has been disclosed.&nbsp;According to an <a href="https://www.mvtimes.com/2022/10/11/reserved-for-jim/?fbclid=IwAR3wcHT9d3yVbVdSXtrj2twcKayONxlHqb52M0L4Ptmvl1BMoTh_TNJzKU0">article</a> written about Jim in Martha’s Vineyard’s local newspaper, the MV Times, a lone chair has been placed where Jim’s Suburban was.&nbsp;

Scientists, however, focus their research on bats for a different reason:<blockquote>Bats are distinctive among mammals due to their ability to fly, use laryngeal echolocation, and tolerate viruses … bats have evolved mechanisms to tolerate a large load of viral sequences… [emphases added]</blockquote>Their research is not merely theoretical; it centers on diseases that already pose a threat to humans:<blockquote>… what makes bats most distinctive is that many species … have been shown to tolerate and survive many viruses that have high mortality rates in humans, such as SARS-CoV, SARS-CoV-2, MERS-CoV, Marburg, and henipaviruses. This is potentially due to a modulation of their innate immune response rendering them as asymptomatic and tolerant viral hosts.</blockquote>&nbsp;So much knowledge, so little understanding of what to do with itAnd much more research is, allegedly, needed, because despite the years of study, with their corresponding risk, very little (and perhaps no) progress has been made in understanding how bats thrive despite having high viral loads (although hypotheses abound). What have humans gained, in fact, from all the knowledge acquired in the hundreds of biolabs located around the globe?<blockquote>To date, how bats deal with viruses is still poorly understood, with only a limited number of immune cells documented and characterized in a few [of the hundreds of] bat species … Further, developing cellular resources and assays is required to uncover and validate the molecular adaptations that have evolved in bats to tolerate these viral pathogens. The prevailing hypothesis supported by recent comparative genomic analyses of multiple bat families is that viral tolerance results from specific adaptations of their innate immune system. Accordingly, bats mount an inaugural antiviral reaction after viral inoculation—like all mammals—but then quickly “dampen” this very response before it becomes overly pathological. In this new project, CSU is partnering with Dr. Daszak's Ecohealth Alliance.According to the university,&nbsp;<blockquote>… bats hold unique, critically-important clues to understanding why and how people and animals get sick when exposed to disease-causing organisms known as pathogens…</blockquote>Anticipating concern, <a href="https://batresearch.colostate.edu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">CSU reassures</a> that the Fort Collins biolab will only be dealing with “mild” diseases (such as COVID?) which can be “easily treated" (with cheap, safe, repurposed drugs such as ivermectin?):<blockquote>In the new building, researchers will work with mild infectious disease pathogens that can be easily treated…</blockquote><a href="https://source.colostate.edu/qa-csu-lab-safety/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Furthermore</a>, they will only be conducting the kind of gain-of-function research regarding which people apparently have no concern:<blockquote>Q: Does CSU do gain-of-function research?A: … CSU has no plans to conduct gain-of-function research of concern [emphases added].</blockquote>They add that the university has a reputation for safety:<blockquote>CSU has studied infectious diseases since the 1960s and has a long track-record of expertise, safety, and compliance…&nbsp;</blockquote>This reputation was challenged not long ago by the UK <a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-13227783/Staff-taxpayer-funded-Colorado-virus-lab-bitten-Covid-infected-HAMSTERS-disease-ridden-bats-shocking-spate-accidents-exclusive-documents-show.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Daily Mail</a>, which excoriated Colorado State University for a “shocking number of accidents in recent years”:<blockquote>Bombshell documents show there were at least 50 incidents involving safety control lapses at Colorado State University between 2020 and 2023, including workers who were bitten by a Covid-infected hamster, splashed in the face with blood from mice with tuberculosis and scratched by rabies-infected cats.The reports were never disclosed to the public despite occurring at the height of the Covid pandemic, which many officials, including the FBI, suspect was borne out of a similar lab accident in China.</blockquote>&nbsp;It's not Fauci or Daszak — it's YOUR faultMainstream media in the United States, meanwhile, is concerned about bats for a different reason: climate change. According to <a href="https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2024/03/26/1240779167/how-do-we-halt-the-next-pandemic-be-kind-to-critters-like-bats-says-a-new-paper" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">NPR</a>,<blockquote>Almost every pandemic we've seen over the last century has come from a virus that's spilled over into humans from an animal…</blockquote>Their article goes on to “explain” how deforestation forces bats to invade cities to find food, leaving behind droppings that cause “spillover” diseases.Therefore, government attention and funding is best directed, so this theory goes, toward research into bat habitats and global warming, as a recent article in <a href="https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-024-46151-9" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Nature</a> describes:<blockquote>Reducing the risk of future pandemics requires investment in prevention, preparedness, and response. At present, most attention and funding is allocated to mitigation after a pathogen is already circulating … By contrast, primary pandemic prevention—defined as reducing the likelihood a pathogen transmits from its animal host into humans (zoonotic spillover; Fig. 1)—has received less attention in global conversations, policy guidance, and practice…</blockquote>So, don't blame the biolabs. Blame regular humans, for the crime of “using land”:<blockquote>To effectively prevent pandemics, we must recognize two key points: first that pandemics almost always start with a microbe infecting a wild animal in a natural environment and second that human-caused land-use change often triggers the events–whether through wildlife trade or other distal activities–that facilitate spillover of microbes from wild animals to humans. As land-use change becomes more intense and extensive, the risk of zoonotic spillovers, and subsequent epidemics and pandemics, will increase [emphases added].</blockquote>

<h2>Dumbing down education to fight “racism”</h2>School districts that promote social justice DEI agendas may be causing more harm than good. &nbsp;A case in point is the Seattle, Washington school board which is closing down its “Highly Capable Cohort” (HCC), a program for high-achieving students, because there were more white students in the program than black, Hispanic, Asian, and multi-racial students, <a href="https://lawenforcementtoday.com/seattle-mothballs-program-for-gifted-students-chooses-to-dumb-down-entire-classrooms-all-for-equity" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reported</a> Pat Dorney for Law Enforcement Today.&nbsp;Referencing KTTH-770’s Jason Rantz's report on the dissolution of the program, Dorney explained that from 2015 to 2021 the percentage of students of different ethnicities increased, yet, it was not good enough for those looking for equal representation.<blockquote>In 2015, the Seattle Public Schools hired an “equity specialist” whose charge was to address (in other words, find) so-called racial inequities. Three years later, the HCC served 13% multiracial students, 11.8% Asian, 3.7% Hispanic, and 1.6% black. In 2021, those numbers had increased to 20% multiracial, 16% Asian, 8.2% Hispanic, and 3.4% black. In other words, most cohorts virtually doubled their participation, while Asian participation saw a 25% increase. However, that wasn’t good enough for critics who complained the program was “racist” and had to go. (Emphasis added.)</blockquote>Minority parents ignoredRather than searching for more non-white students who would qualify for the program, and despite protests from minority parents whose children had been benefiting, the program will be closed. In the coming 2024-2025 school year a whole-classroom model will be implemented, which Dorney quotes Rantz as arguing, is “unworkable.” Students of varying levels will all be placed in one classroom but they will not be taught in the same way forcing teachers to adapt lessons to both students who can barely read and those "reading two advanced books a week:”<blockquote>[Rantz] explained that students of all learning abilities would be included in the classroom, with each teacher responsible for between 20-30 students of differing learning abilities, with no additional resources and limited new training. Rantz argues it will make it impossible for teachers to create individualized programs for students with such disparate needs.“It’s not likely that a teacher can help a student who can barely read while simultaneously challenging a classmate who is reading two advanced books a week,” Rantz wrote. (Emphasis added.)</blockquote><h3>7% gap was too much</h3>Benjamin Ryan tweeted about the disbanding of the Highly Capable Cohort; including one mother's comment that it was of tremendous help to her highly gifted son with ADHD who was reading Harry Potter books at age 5.Pie charts, included in the tweet, show the apparent disparities between the racial/ethnic makeup of the Seattle public school student body and the Highly Capable Cohort. Several others wrote independently at their desks. A special education student wrote with a paraprofessional at their side. The rest of the class sat in a front corner of the classroom while the teacher read a book out loud.In other words, Rantz said, advanced learners were sent back to the scourge of COVID-19 learning, “relegated to impersonal iPads,” while other students are writing, alone at their desks, somehow avoiding the distraction of the teacher loudly reading a book out loud.”</blockquote><h3>Less advanced students will not be lifted up</h3>Rather than lifting the underachievers, the move will dumb down the gifted students, according to Rantz.<blockquote>The move to dumb down the gifted kids to the level of their less advanced peers is “another lazy move,” Rantz argues. Instead of trying to lift the underachievers up, they dumb everyone else down. Is it any wonder that test scores are in the basement?&nbsp;</blockquote><h3>A program that helps no one</h3>In conclusion, Dorney argued, the school board was failing to support the more gifted students as well as those for whom they were aiming to provide equity.<blockquote>By mothballing a program that lifted kids up and was working for the lowest common denominator, the progressives on the Seattle school board are failing not only their high-achieving students but the very students whose “equity” they are trying to achieve.&nbsp;</blockquote><h2>There's nothing like a quality education</h2>Those who made it up from poverty, such as economist, social critic, and senior fellow at the Hoover Institution for Public Policy Research Thomas Sowell and teacher Dena Simmons, attest to the difference a proper education makes.&nbsp;<h3>Thomas Sowell: "fairness not an option"</h3>Sowell, Frontline News <a href="https://frontline.news/post/the-injustice-of-social-justice" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reported</a>, appreciated the lack of fairness he experienced in an era before affirmative action and DEI. Growing up with hard-working parents who never made it past 7th grade, Sowell's teachers expected him to leave school knowing as much as children from more affluent homes that had books and magazines that his did not. Never was there consideration that he might not be able to succeed and needed “assistance” to make up for his underprivileged background. During his 1999 talk at the Harvard Club, which is depicted in the below After Skool cartoon of his talk, Sowell said:<blockquote>Whenever I hear the notions of fairness in education, I think back to my own education and I think, “Thank God my teachers were unfair to me.”</blockquote><figure class="image"><img src="https://res.cloudinary.com/aflds/image/upload/v1711546091/image_39f9cd3cd5.png"></figure>He believed that had his teachers lowered their standards, as they are doing today, he would have been doomed to failure. However, he continued, “with a good education, change can happen in one generation. This was shown time and time again,” Sowell said in the clip below, using the late Jamie Escalante as an example. After receiving her degree and returning to the Bronx in order to give back to her community, she discovered that there was a big difference between her and her students; she was now living there by choice while her students were there, as she had been as a child, because of economic circumstances.&nbsp;Simmons did not talk about diversity, equity, or inclusion, although she did recognize the difference “privilege” made and now considered herself privileged. Ironically, the privilege she had was her mother's hard work and her own diligence. Nevertheless, wanting the best for her students, she became more mindful of her students' experiences, working to empower them and give them a sense of self-worth, stating (@10:00):<blockquote>I celebrated my students by reading writers whose stories resonated with theirs, by constantly adjusting my teaching to meet the needs of my students, and by empowering my students to take ownership in their learning.Actually, one activity that I did in my classroom was dedicating a day to celebrate each student. My students and I would write warm fuzzy messages on sticky notes and then I would collect these sticky notes and give them to that student. My students would keep these messages of love and support on their desk for weeks. As a class we celebrated each other's assets.&nbsp;In essence, a mindful educator is a culturally responsive educator. According to a new <a href="https://pure.rug.nl/ws/portalfiles/portal/953608020/s10508-024-02817-5.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">study </a>conducted in the Netherlands, the vast majority of adolescents unhappy with their sex/gender outgrow their discontent by the age of 22. Only a small percentage of those studied (between the ages of 11 and 26) became more discontented with their gender over time, while 78 percent in this age-group had no gender discontentedness at all.<figure class="image"><img src="https://res.cloudinary.com/aflds/image/upload/v1712264137/trans_graph_netherlands_2_c60b0ee9fc.png"></figure>&nbsp;Most kids do not suffer gender discontentThe study followed 2,772 adolescents (53 percent male, 47 percent female) for 15 years, from age 11 until age 26. They were questioned about their feelings regarding their sex at six points along the way, answering: “I wish to be of the opposite sex” with either 0-Not True, 1-Somewhat or Sometimes True,&nbsp;or &nbsp;2-Very True of Often True.Researchers also examined self-concept, behavioral and emotional problems, and adult sexual orientation (the last of which was only examined at age 22).&nbsp;According to their findings, around one in ten young adolescents are unhappy with their sex, but by the time they are in their mid-twenties, over half of this group have come to terms with their sex:<blockquote>In early adolescence, 11% of participants reported gender non-contentedness. The prevalence decreased with age and was 4% at the last follow-up (around age 26).</blockquote>Meanwhile, most adolescents have no issues in this area, while a very small minority (two percent) become maladjusted during their teenage years:<blockquote>Three developmental trajectories of gender non-contentedness were identified: no gender non-contentedness (78%), decreasing gender non-contentedness (19%), and increasing gender non-contentedness (2%).</blockquote><figure class="image"><img></figure>&nbsp;Feminism's failure? Girls still unhappier than boys about their genderFemales were more prone to feeling unhappy with their sex, especially younger teens.<blockquote>Individuals with an increasing gender non-contentedness more often were female and both an increasing and decreasing trajectory were associated with a lower global self-worth, more behavioral and emotional problems, and a non-heterosexual sexual orientation.</blockquote>Meanwhile, among those who outgrew their unhappiness with their sex, many turned out to have same-sex attraction:<blockquote>A decreasing gender non-contentedness trajectory was also significantly associated with a homosexual or bisexual identification and global self-worth.</blockquote>&nbsp;‘If I change sex, will I feel better about myself?’In the study, feeling generally negative about oneself correlated with feeling unhappy about one’s sex:<blockquote>… &nbsp;tests showed that individuals who answered “sometimes” or “often” at T1 [age eleven] had significantly lower scores on the self-concept physical appearance subscale (referring to a more negative self-concept) compared to individuals who never experienced gender non-contentedness at T1.</blockquote>This was not a new finding; earlier studies have found the same:<blockquote>Earlier studies also found that children referred to gender identity clinics have a more negative self-concept compared to a Dutch norm sample, specifically in the physical appearance and global self-worth domains.</blockquote>&nbsp;The troubled teens of the 21st centuryGender dysphoria, the “<a href="https://www.psychiatry.org/patients-families/gender-dysphoria/what-is-gender-dysphoria" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">psychological distress that results from an incongruence between one’s sex assigned at birth and one’s gender identity</a>,” is recognized as an emotional disorder in DSM-5-TR and has long been associated with other emotional problems, and the study confirmed this:<blockquote>[Those with an] increasing and decreasing gender non-contentedness trajectory had a significantly higher total problem score than individuals without gender non-contentedness at any of the assessment waves…</blockquote><blockquote>... individuals with an increasing trajectory of gender non-contentedness had significantly higher YSR/ASR total problem scores at all timepoints. Gender non-contentedness has previously been associated with mental health problems ... and clinical gender dysphoria has been reported to co-occur with diverse psychiatric problems, such as depression and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and autism spectrum disorder… [emphases added]</blockquote>&nbsp;Nothing new—and nothing changesNothing about the results of this study was especially surprising to anyone who has been following the genuine science of “gender studies.” The researchers noted that earlier studies had similar findings, mentioning one <a href="https://www.frontiersin.org/journals/psychiatry/articles/10.3389/fpsyt.2021.660746/full" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">study </a>that found eight percent dissatisfaction with one’s sex at age 13, and none in the same cohort by age 22.They also cite another <a href="https://academic.oup.com/jsm/article-abstract/10/11/2723/6940065?redirectedFrom=fulltext&amp;login=false" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">study </a>that revealed that “transition” in early childhood made it more likely for patients to have “persistent gender dysphoria.”Meanwhile, the leaking of the <a href="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/56a45d683b0be33df885def6/t/6602fa875978a01601858171/1711471262073/WPATH+Report+and+Files111.pdf?utm_source=substack&amp;utm_medium=email" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">WPATH </a>(World Professional Association for Transgender Health) files shows not only that “transition” is still being encouraged for youth, but that those mutilating children and adolescents, in reaction to a likely transient feeling of gender discontent, are quite aware that those taking the drugs and going under the knife have no real understanding of the consequences.<blockquote>[T]he ethical requirement to obtain informed consent is being violated, with [WPATH] members admitting that children and adolescents cannot comprehend the lifelong consequences of sex-trait modification interventions …They say they understand, but then they’ll say something else that makes you think, oh, they didn’t really understand that they are going to have facial hair…[The effects of hormone treatment are] something that kids wouldn’t normally understand because they haven’t had [high school] biology yet…</blockquote>

A recent <a href="https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2024.03.20.24304640v1.full.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">study</a> of people, mostly young, with heart damage following the COVID shots has revealed that a third have yet to recover for over a year and up to a year and a half after their diagnoses.The study also revealed that a third of those with only a probable myocarditis diagnosis following the shots were confirmed with a definite diagnosis, once an improved imaging method was used, suggesting that the currently reported rates of “vaccine"-induced myocarditis may be understating the true extent of the phenomenon.&nbsp;Short stay in hospital, long haul after dischargeThe study was conducted in Australia using data from the State of Victoria’s adverse events database, and followed 67 people with either a definite or a probable diagnosis of myocarditis following receipt of the shots.&nbsp;The study participants ranged in age between 17 and 43 with a mean age of 30. 72% of them were male. Most of the participants had received the Pfizer shots (55); 10 had received Moderna’s shots; and 2 had received AstraZeneca’s product.All 67 had been hospitalized, generally within five days after the shots; most (70%) after the second shot. (The official guidelines for categorizing myocarditis as “vaccine-induced” require onset of symptoms within two weeks of the shots.) Most of the 67 were in the hospital for one to three days, and three needed intensive care.Participation in the study entailed undergoing cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) late gadolinium enhancement (<a href="https://radiopaedia.org/articles/late-gadolinium-enhancement-2?lang=us" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">LGE</a>) imaging at least 12 months after diagnosis to identify cardiac scar and better assess condition and prognosis.&nbsp;<blockquote>LGE is a technique used in cardiac MRI&nbsp;for cardiac tissue characterization, in particular, the assessment of myocardial scar formation and regional myocardial fibrosis.</blockquote>The median time from the shots was 548 days, with a range from 398 to 603 days. Yet, even after all that time, researchers assessing the data concluded that a third of patients with C-VAM (myocarditis following the shots) still qualified for a myocarditis diagnosis.<blockquote>Persistent LGE on CMR occurs in one third of patients with C-VAM.</blockquote>More common and more serious than some would have you believeWith the advantage of CMR imaging, the researchers were also able to increase the accuracy of diagnosis and found that almost a third of those with only a “probable” myocarditis diagnosis did in fact have myocarditis, again, over a year after the shots.<blockquote>Without CMR at diagnosis, almost one third of patients are misclassified as probable rather than definite myocarditis. [Emphasis added.]</blockquote>Reporting in the mainstream media on myocarditis has generally highlighted the fact that most people with the diagnosis are discharged from hospital within just a few days (as was true of the participants in this study) and that the disease “is therefore mild.” What this study shows is that this perception is misleading if not false, as over a year and up to two years after the diagnosis, many people still have damaged hearts. In fact, this was already known before this recent study, although little attention has been paid to it.<blockquote>Although the clinical course of COVID19 vaccine-associated myocarditis is usually benign and self-limiting [that is, hospital stays are short], previous studies evaluating the use of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) in the acute setting have found imaging abnormalities are common. These findings include late gadolinium enhancement (LGE), which reflects myocardial fibrosis and scarring (seen in up to 90% of cases) and elevated myocardial T2 relaxation time, which is indicative of myocardial oedema (in up to 80% of cases).</blockquote>&nbsp;“Little is known…” perhaps because few want to knowThe researchers noted that their findings corresponded with those in a previous study which followed 40 adolescents and found almost 40% to have persistent heart damage over a year after diagnosis:<blockquote>A recent study of 12-month follow-up CMR in 40 adolescents with C-VAM found a comparable incidence of persistent LGE to our study, with a rate of 37.5% (seen in 15 out of 40 patients).</blockquote>They also stressed that myocarditis following the shots occurs mainly in younger people who were previously healthy, making it that much more alarming:<blockquote>Whilst little is known about the longer-term sequelae of this condition, specifically the impact on cardiac function and its clinical correlation, it is particularly crucial to define as COVID19 vaccine-associated myocarditis is predominantly a disease of the young and healthy. Current evidence is limited to only a few small cohort studies with a relatively short follow up period.</blockquote>Although the study was small, the researchers noted that it was nonetheless the largest study to date on this area in cardiac health, with the longest follow-up period. They make no comment on the apparent lack of interest of national health agencies in investigating C-VAM.&nbsp;Prognosis: Take great care, and prayWhat does this mean in practice?The researchers stressed that the long-term implications of their findings are not clear. However, previous studies on regular myocarditis not induced by the shots have shown that sufferers have a worse prognosis if LGE persists for over six months, and that LGE is closely associated with mortality rates:<blockquote>The long-term clinical implications of LGE in this condition are as yet unknown, but LGE has been demonstrated to confer worse prognosis in non-COVID-19 vaccine-associated myocarditis, especially if it persists beyond six months. Furthermore, a study of 222 patients with biopsy-proven myocarditis identified that LGE on CMR was the strongest predictor of long-term mortality ... This prognostic impact persists at 10-year follow up.</blockquote>They make no reference to the quality of life of people with myocarditis, but the consequences of such heart damage are often life-altering.<blockquote>Each year, young adults, children, and athletes of all ages – all otherwise healthy – are unexpectedly diagnosed with myocarditis. This rare disease is characterized by the inflammation of the heart wall and can cause chest pain, an abnormal heartbeat, shortness of breath, and sudden death in those affected.</blockquote>This quotation is taken from the <a href="https://www.myocarditisfoundation.org/myocarditis-and-pericarditis-following-mrna-covid-19-vaccination/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Myocarditis Foundation</a>, whose website notes that they are “dedicated to ... finding the cure for myocarditis,” adding that “our cardiologists have consistently encouraged patients to take the COVID-19 vaccine...”Renowned cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough is less circumspect with his language, and has frequently <a href="https://childrenshealthdefense.org/defender/heart-attacks-young-athletes-myocarditis-covid-vaccine-cola/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">warned</a> of the dangers of myocarditis:<blockquote>Now as a cardiologist, I can tell you if somebody has myocarditis, we can’t let them play sports because the surge of adrenaline will trigger a cardiac arrest. Our guidelines before COVID said don’t let somebody with myocarditis play sports. So now athletes have taken the vaccine, they’re developing myocarditis, they’re playing sports and for some unfortunate ones, it triggers a cardiac death. This is a straightforward relationship. This is not controversial.</blockquote>&nbsp;2 per hundred thousand, or 1 per ten thousand?How many people are potentially affected by this condition? The study makes no clear estimate, merely noting that myocarditis is “rare” with “an incidence of approximately 2 cases per 100,000.” Although their data revealed that many diagnoses are missed or misclassified due to inferior diagnostics, they make no attempt at a more realistic assessment.However, it is by now widely accepted that C-VAM disproportionately affects young men, and within this age group, the rate is closer to 1 in 10,000 for adolescents, according to at least one study that was published in <a href="https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jama/fullarticle/2788346" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">JAMA Network</a>. Despite acknowledging the disproportionate impact on young men, the researchers do not issue any recommendations for them; in any case, for most it is already too late to avoid the shots.&nbsp;14 million deaths prevented !(?)The study concludes with praise for the “vaccines,” although whether this is an insurance policy to give the study its best chance of being published (it was still a pre-print at the time of this writing) or the genuine views of the researchers is unclear.<blockquote>It must be noted that any discussion surrounding adverse events following immunization requires acknowledgement of the overwhelmingly positive impact of the widespread global vaccination policy against COVID-19, which prevented an estimated 14 million deaths within the first 12 months of distribution. In this same period, a large study of &gt;42 million vaccinated people in the United Kingdom found that the risk of myocarditis associated with COVID-19 infection significantly outweighed the risk associated with COVID-19 vaccination.</blockquote>
