BRAZIL’s first political prisoner under the Lula administration has <a href="https://brasilsemmedo.com/morre-o-primeiro-preso-politico-da-ditadura-democratica-brasileira/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">died</a> in prison. Cleriston Pereira da Cunha, 46, arrested during the dictatorship created by the Supreme Court after January 8’s events, was awaiting trial in prison in delicate medical condition.&nbsp;After evaluating his risk, doctors and the Federal Prosecutor's Office requested the prison sentence be replaced with other precautionary measures, as was done with almost all the other defendants. Since September 1, the Attorney General's Office ruled to release the prisoner, but Supreme Court Justice and Superior Electoral Court (TSE) President Alexandre de Moraes dismissed all requests for two-and-a-half months.One day after da Cunha’s death, communist president Luiz Inácio Lula de Silva <a href="https://brasilsemmedo.com/um-dia-apos-morte-de-preso-politico-moraes-e-condecorado-por-lula/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">honored</a> de Moraes with the highest degree of the Order of Rio Branco. China continues investing in Latin American countries, with recent prominence in South America’s “lithium triangle” - the area shared by Chile, Bolivia, and Argentina - where 60% of the world's lithium reserves are <a href="https://www.france24.com/es/programas/econom%C3%ADa/20231101-china-litio-bolivia-latinoamerica-inversion" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">concentrated</a> and which constitutes one of China's strategic goals.A recent International Energy Agency (IEA) report reveals that between 2018 and 2021, Chinese lithium extraction investment reached $4.3 billion, with half of these investments in Latin America. CHILE’s Environment Ministry <a href="https://www.terram.cl/2023/10/ministerio-del-medio-ambiente-lanza-sistema-de-compensacion-para-fomentar-la-reduccion-de-contaminantes/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">initiated</a> the “Green Tax Compensation System,” a project that has been in development since 2020. The program will establish its own rules, requirements, and methodologies to define pollutants, allowing the system to act beyond Green Tax jurisdiction. The program’s objective is to “stimulate the population to implement sustainable projects throughout the country.”The Green Tax charges people or companies “that emit CO2” into the atmosphere through their industrial activity, according to WHO and other globalist organization’s definitions of pollutants. Environment Minister Maisa Rojas claimed compensation will be made “by presenting emission reduction certificates for the same pollutant.”COLOMBIA: President Gustavo Petro <a href="https://panampost.com/jose-gregorio-martinez/2023/10/25/petro-entrega-a-china-pieza-que-faltaba-en-sudamerica/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">signed</a> 12 agreements with the Chinese Xi Jinping regime during his first visit to the Asian country.
