The World Economic Forum (WEF) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1971 by German economist Klaus Schwab.&nbsp; Its purpose, according to its mission statement, is to “engage the foremost political, business, cultural and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.”&nbsp; Furthermore, “It is independent, impartial and not tied to any special interests.”&nbsp; Who funds the World Economic Forum?&nbsp; It is “<a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Economic_Forum" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">…&nbsp;mostly funded by its 1,000 member companies</a> – typically global enterprises with more than five billion US dollars in turnover – as well as public subsidies.” &nbsp;So much for being “independent, impartial and not tied to any special interests.”As with any organization (with the notable exception of governments), the World Economic Forum works to advance its members’ agendas.&nbsp; What are those agendas?&nbsp; There is one overriding agenda that permeates the World Economic Forum, its policies and its approach to every crisis, perceived or real.&nbsp; This agenda is repeated at every opportunity by Schwab and others speaking on behalf of the WEF.&nbsp; It is the basis of every article and policy of the WEF.&nbsp; That agenda is global governance.&nbsp; Global governance is the World Economic Forum’s panacea for every issue and challenge that we face.&nbsp; Without it, we are in for hard times.&nbsp; According to the WEF, global governance is needed if we are to overcome the challenges that face us.&nbsp; The Word Economic Forum website paints a glowing picture of a world in which global governance is also called global cooperation. <a href="https://he-il.facebook.com/shalomshneor/videos/1907089629483845/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">In a recent interview</a>, Klaus Schwab mentioned how proud he was of various heads of countries who were at one time members of Young Global Leaders of the WEF.&nbsp; He mentioned specifically Angela Merkel the former chancellor of Germany and Vladimir Putin, the current president of Russia.The World Economic Forum through its members are working to create a world in which individual freedom is sacrificed to the god of technocracy.&nbsp; The world can be better managed by technocrats than by elected governments.&nbsp; They know what’s best for you and what will make you happy.&nbsp; They are the enlightened ones.In 2019 the Network of Global Future Councils of the WEF convened in Dubai for their annual meeting.&nbsp; There are councils on every conceivable aspect of life.&nbsp; There is a Global Future Council on climate change, on Russia, on China, on cities and urbanization, on cybersecurity, on agile governance and more.&nbsp; Here are some of their visions describing our future.<a href="https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2016/11/8-predictions-for-the-world-in-2030" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">“All products have become services.</a> ‘I don't own anything. I don't own a car. I don't own a house. I don't own any appliances or any clothes,’ writes Danish MP Ida Auken.&nbsp; It sounds utopian, until she mentions that her every move is tracked and outside the city live swathes of discontents, the ultimate depiction of a society split in two.”&nbsp; That last sentence, incredibly, is a quote from the WEF article.&nbsp; The editor apparently missed that.&nbsp; Apparently, to enjoy WEF utopia, you must toe the line or else you are out.&nbsp; <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/worldeconomicforum/2016/11/10/shopping-i-cant-really-remember-what-that-is-or-how-differently-well-live-in-2030/?sh=21e1c0101735" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Ms Auken continues,</a> “In our city we don't pay any rent, because someone else is using our free space whenever we do not need it. My living room is used for business meetings when I am not there.” &nbsp;There will be no privacy but you will be happy opines the good MP from Denmark.Is anybody doing any critical thinking?&nbsp; Let’s unpack this for a moment.&nbsp; If I don’t own anything, who owns everything?&nbsp; Can the owner decide not to rent to me?&nbsp; Do we really want to live in a world in which we own nothing and are totally dependent for our needs upon some amorphous entity run by people we did not elect and who are not accountable to us for their decisions?&nbsp; Does this description remind you of anything?&nbsp; Does it sound like a modern version of Marx’s manifesto?&nbsp; Does it sound like the USSR under Lenin and Stalin?&nbsp; We all know how that turned out.&nbsp; The article paints a picture of utopia but when you actually envision what it means, it’s the most dystopian vision you could think of.&nbsp;<h4 style="margin-left:0cm;">“Green” electricity</h4><a href="https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2019/10/what-happens-if-we-beat-climate-change" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">“The air you breathe</a> in the city is cleaner because there are far fewer cars on the streets and the rest are electric – all electricity is green in fact.”&nbsp; “Green” electricity is manufactured through the development of renewable energy sources.&nbsp; To date, <a href="https://www.forbes.com/sites/michaelshellenberger/2019/04/22/unreliable-nature-of-solar-and-wind-makes-electricity-much-more-expensive-major-new-study-finds/?sh=4a6b09864f59" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">this has proven to be very expensive</a>, <a href="https://www.canadianinvestor.com/2022/01/21/the-true-cost-of-unreliable-renewable-energy/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">very inefficient</a> and <a href="https://www.heartland.org/news-opinion/news/wind-power-and-solar-power-arent-cheaper-than-coal-or-natural-gas" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">very unreliable.</a>The article’s tag is, “The world's progress on transitioning to sustainable energy has stalled. Here’s how to fix it.”&nbsp; Firstly, why are they referring to renewable energy as sustainable energy.&nbsp; The only energy source that has proven to be cheap, efficient and reliable is energy based on fossil fuels. Calling renewable energy sustainable is pure propaganda.&nbsp; To the point, there is good reason why the transition to renewable energy has stalled.&nbsp; It is expensive and unreliable.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;The switch to solar and other forms of renewable energy is touted as the answer to the “disaster” of climate change.&nbsp; The assumption is that climate change is man-made.&nbsp; Since we made it, we can fix it.&nbsp; Although the mainstream media pushes this view as being the scientific consensus, it is far from a consensus among climatologists, as <a href="https://www.desmog.com/nir-shaviv/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Prof. Nir Shaviv</a> and <a href="https://climatediscussionnexus.com/2019/07/17/new-evidence-for-the-svensmark-solar-effect/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Dr. Henrik Svensmark’s</a> research has shown.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;It is important also to note that solar energy is not an environmental panacea.&nbsp; Production of photo voltaic cells (and in fact all forms of renewable energy) has <a href="https://www.instituteforenergyresearch.org/renewable/green-technologies-cause-massive-waste-and-pollution/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">its own pollution problems</a>.We should of course develop renewable energy.&nbsp; Even scientists who maintain that global warming is not manmade agree that there are good reasons to develop renewable energy.&nbsp; But should it be at the expense of reliable, cheap energy from fossil fuels?&nbsp; The situation is sub-Saharan Africa is one result of such misguided policies.&nbsp; Energy companies are not developing fossil fuel sources of energy in Africa even though Africa is a treasure house of natural resources.&nbsp; So, because access to electricity is unreliable in most of sub-Saharan Africa, people there use indoor wood burning stoves.&nbsp; As a result, life expectancy at birth in this area is 62, one of the lowest in the world.&nbsp;Policies for dealing with climate change should not be made in a global institution whose members we did not elect but whose policies are foisted upon us.<h4 style="margin-left:0cm;">My body my choice?</h4>Omicron is not one of the topics of the Global Future Councils' meeting.&nbsp; It appears elsewhere on the WEF website.&nbsp; However, it is &nbsp;prime example of, “we know what’s best for you”.&nbsp; “Omicron’s surge was accompanied by a new wave of misinformation as people across the world learned new lessons in how to live with COVID-19 and make decisions in their daily lives. What are the dangers of this misinformation and how can we combat it?”&nbsp;Who decides the proper approach to battling Omicron, or any health issue, for that matter?&nbsp; Isn’t personal health a matter for each of us to decide with our health care professionals? According to the WEF, the answer is a resounding, “No!”&nbsp; The WEF decides the correct approach to our health.&nbsp; Anyone who is not in line with their answer is peddling “misinformation” and needs to be combatted.&nbsp; There was a period in history when there was one narrative for science and anyone who veered from that narrative was condemned as a heretic.&nbsp; It was during the time of the great astronomer Galileo Galilei.&nbsp;&nbsp;“<a href="https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2018/09/we-need-a-new-framework-for-global-governance-here-s-how-we-could-build-one/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">The current global governance system</a> is in flux as the centrality of global institutions is weakened, and nation states are reasserting their powers.”&nbsp; This is the first sentence of an article entitled “We need a new framework for global governance. Here’s how we could build one.”&nbsp; The message is clear.&nbsp; Nation states are bad.&nbsp; Global institutions are good.&nbsp; Here’s the problem.&nbsp; Global institutions are accountable to no one but their funders.&nbsp; Nation states, at least in theory if not in practice are accountable to their citizens.&nbsp; The few examples I mentioned in this article have one thing in common.&nbsp; Decisions are being made and policies are being instituted over which we have no say, but which will affect our lives dramatically.&nbsp; Sounds a lot like creeping totalitarianism.

Who's afraid of Big Bad Tech? 

A British vigilante group known as the “Blade Runners” is receiving widespread support from British taxpayers as it continues to destroy climate surveillance cameras across London.<h2>The ULEZ mandate</h2>By order of London Mayor Sadiq Khan, the city is peppered with ultra-low emission zones (ULEZs), areas accessible only to low-emission vehicles. Cars that do not meet the city’s environmental standards are charged £12.50 ($16) for entering the ULEZ. Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras positioned around the zones read license plates and check them against the vehicles’ make and model in real time. If a vehicle does not meet the environmental threshold, a fine is levied against the car owner.&nbsp;The ULEZ climate mandate has drawn heavy&nbsp;<a href="https://frontline.news/post/london-hundreds-protest-against-climate-mandates">protests</a> from residents, including&nbsp;<a href="https://frontline.news/post/british-veteran-launches-hunger-strike-as-unrest-grows-over-climate-mandates">hunger strikes</a> and refusals to pay fines. Taxpayers have also taken to disabling the ANPR surveillance cameras which Transport for London (TfL), the city’s transportation department, said will be used both for climate and law enforcement.<h2>Taxpayers cheer the ‘Blade Runners’</h2>Since the climate restrictions were expanded last year, the Blade Runners have taken to disabling and destroying hundreds of cameras. Some surveillance vans have been spotted covered in graffiti with their tires slashed, while others have been completely covered in tarp.Last month, 21 cameras were destroyed in the hours after Sadiq Khan was re-elected mayor of London, the&nbsp;Daily Mail&nbsp;<a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13538797/Moment-Blade-Runner-uses-power-tool-cut-ULEZ-camera-traffic-light-latest-attack-Sadiq-Khans-hated-scheme.html">reported</a>. Last weekend, Blade Runners used power tools to topple a ULEZ camera and traffic lights to the delight of some fellow taxpayers. In a video that was posted to social media, passing cars can be heard honking in support.The video received over 37,000 likes. Comments on the post were largely supportive, with users writing that, “When tyranny becomes law, rebellion becomes duty,” and “Fair play to them, it's a complete scam that does nothing.”Blade Runner Matt Hardy told the&nbsp;Daily Mail&nbsp;that the Blade Runners are “people pissed off about the tyranny reigning over us and getting out and doing things about it – real votes, real boys here.”<h2>‘These cameras are not about the climate. They are about control’</h2>British actor and influencer Laurence Fox said this week he was just given back his electronic devices by police after being arrested earlier this year for cheering on the Blade Runners:<blockquote>These cameras are not about the climate. They are about control. Fisker is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, the electric vehicle (EV) company announced Tuesday.<h2>‘Like other companies in the electric vehicle industry’</h2>“Fisker has made incredible progress since our founding, bringing the Ocean SUV to market twice as fast as expected in the auto industry and making good on our promises to deliver the most sustainable vehicle in the world,” a spokesperson <a href="https://assets.ctfassets.net/cghen8gr8e1n/6W19OiEBJDVIFVEmo4feHA/df902c5cb2b067251a300efb0b35f611/Fisker-Filing-FINAL.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">said</a>.The California-based company added it is not the only EV maker that has been struggling to stay in business.“We are proud of our achievements, and we have put thousands of Fisker Ocean SUVs in customers’ hands in both North American [sic] and Europe. But like other companies in the electric vehicle industry, we have faced various market and macroeconomic headwinds that have impacted our ability to operate efficiently. After evaluating all options for our business, we determined that proceeding with a sale of our assets under Chapter 11 is the most viable path forward for the company.”Fisker’s collapse is the latest indication that the EV industry is folding due to sinking demand. Other EV industry players are also cutting their losses as they jump ship.<h2>Hertz</h2>In March, Hertz CEO Stephen Scherr&nbsp;<a href="https://www.motorfinanceonline.com/news/hertz-ceo-resigns-amid-ev-investment-setback/#:~:text=Scherr's%20departure%20coincides%20with%20Hertz's,electric%20vehicle%20(EV)%20rentals">resigned</a> after his bet on EVs cost the car rental giant its biggest quarterly loss since 2020. Hertz had been praised by the Biden administration for its ambition to convert 25% of its fleet to EVs by the end of this year. In January, however, the company announced it would instead be selling its 20,000 EVs — including Teslas — at heavily discounted prices and replacing them with gas-powered cars.<h2>Mercedes-Benz</h2>Mercedes-Benz also recently had to give up its ambition to only sell electric cars by 2030. Instead, EVs are expected to make up only 50% of the German carmaker’s sales over the next decade.<h2>Apple</h2>In February, Apple abandoned its multi-billion dollar effort to create an electric car. Despite being a decade in the works and employing 2,000 people, Project Titan was axed due to falling consumer demand.<h2>Aston Martin</h2>A lack of consumer demand is also partly to blame for Aston Martin&nbsp;<a href="https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13138123/Aston-Martin-puts-brakes-new-electric-supercar-2026-bosses-say-drivers-want-engines-throaty-roar.html">placing</a> its battery-operated “supercar” on hold until 2026.“Demand, certainly at an Aston Martin price point, is not what we thought it was going to be two years ago,” said Aston Martin Executive Chairman Lawrence Stroll.&nbsp;<h2>Ford</h2>In December, Ford slashed production of its flagship EV at its assembly plant in Dearborn, Michigan by half. The automaker cut the monthly production quote for the all-electric F-150 Lightning pickup truck from 3,200 units to 1,600 units per month.<h2>Biden administration continues to force EV production</h2>Nevertheless, the Biden administration in March issued new climate mandates aimed at forcing more EV production. The new rules from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) contain tight emissions standards that will&nbsp;<a href="https://apnews.com/article/epa-electric-vehicles-emissions-limits-climate-biden-e6d581324af51294048df24269b5d20a">require</a> 56% of new vehicle sales to be fully electric by 2032, with an additional 13% required to be hybrids.

Using AI software from Amazon, the cameras use object recognition algorithms to spot criminal activity, trespassing, weapons, wet floors, overcrowding, and overstuffed trash cans.&nbsp;They can also alert authorities when passengers engage in “unusual behavior,” such as shouting, running, smoking, or skateboarding.&nbsp;A combination of existing cameras and newly installed smart cameras are being used for the surveillance project. All are equipped with Amazon’s Rekognition surveillance system.<h2>Emotional recognition</h2>Through a combination of facial and behavioral analyses, the Rekognition software allows officials to also <a href="https://www.wired.com/story/amazon-ai-cameras-emotions-uk-train-passengers/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">analyze visitors’ emotions</a>. Internal documents note that the cameras can detect whether a passenger is “happy, sad [or] angry.” They can also recognize passenger satisfaction, which “could be utilized to maximum advertising and retail revenue.”<h2>Anti-social behavior</h2>Authorities can also detect passengers who exhibit “anti-social behaviour,” which&nbsp;<a href="https://www.met.police.uk/advice/advice-and-information/asb/asb/antisocial-behaviour/what-is-antisocial-behaviour/">according</a> to London’s Metropolitan Police Service means “behaviour by a person which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to persons not of the same household as the person.”<h2>Social distancing, face masks, and demographics</h2>Other&nbsp;<a href="https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/24757655-usecases_dpas_review_managed_stations?responsive=1&amp;title=1">use cases</a> for the surveillance cameras include detecting whether passengers are keeping to social distancing rules and wearing face masks. The cameras can also scan for demographics by identifying people’s age profiles and “socio-economic classification,” which the documents note can create “revenue opportunities for better targeted advertising and product placement.”<h2>‘Quite a concerning step’</h2>The documents were obtained by Big Brother Watch, a civil rights and government watchdog group, in response to a Freedom of Information (FOI) request. Network Rail, a body within the Department of Transportation which manages most of the country’s train network, has been overseeing the surveillance project.&nbsp;“The rollout and normalization of AI surveillance in these public spaces, without much consultation and conversation, is quite a concerning step,” Jake Hurfurt, head of research and investigations at Big Brother Watch,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.wired.com/story/amazon-ai-cameras-emotions-uk-train-passengers/">told</a> Wired.As of now, the surveillance systems do not use facial recognition technology, which analyzes faces and matches them against facial images stored in certain databases.
